Tu pyaar ka saagar hai (You are an ocean of love)
Teri ek boond ke pyaase hum (We thirst for a single drop of you)
Lauta jo diya tune (Returning all that you have given)
Chale jaayenge jahaan se hum (We shall have to leave this world)

dkbhanot on Friday, April 09, 2010
Ghaayal mann ka paagal panchhi (A crazy bird with a bruised mind)
Udne ko beqaraar (Feeling restless or anxious to fly)
Pankh hai komal, aankh hai dhundli (The wings are delicate, the eyes are misty)
Jaana hai saagar paar (Wanting to go across the ocean)
Ab tu hi isse samjha (Now only you can explain or advise)
Raah bhoole the kahan se hum (Where did we lose our way)

dkbhanot on Friday, April 09, 2010
Idhar jhoomke gaaye zindagi (Here is life singing in full swing)
Udhar hai maut khadi (And yonder awaits death)
Koi kya jaane kahan hai seema (Who knows where the boundary is)
Uljhan aan padi (It's become complicated or confusing)
Kaanon mein zara keh de (Please tell us in our ears)
Ke aaye kaun disha se hum (Which direction did we come from)

I am shocked, as I got the message that this song contains vulgarity. What??????? This is a religious song for God sake!! I was trying to post it on Facebook and I cannot do it... Unbieleable

Another Manna Dey , SJ , Shailendra Masterpiece from Seema. Come to think
of it, all songs of Seema are masterpieces, every one of them. Unlike
modern day so called lyricists/MDs who write junk and compose garbage, SJ,
NA, CR, OPN, SD, MM, Ro, HK were real artists and their music came from
their hearts.

- Thank you my dear friend for the comment.
Usually, I too try to "contribute" something to many of the comments made by our friends [with MY two cents worth of opinion!] but at times avoid, for obvious reasons, I being a "foreigner" myself!
This is one of them, I am afraid.
Hope some other friends will "respond".
Thank you.

Manna Dey incomparable! I heard this song is sung like an anthem in
schools.this has transcended from simply a song to a piece of
art.Balraj Sahni poignant portrayal and Nutan 'Angel' expresses the
duvidha so compellingly. Manna Dey takes to such intensity without ever
raising voice.he's truly special. We must cherish and preserve this
legacy at least to provide a yardstick of true art to all true lovers!

@ssnival i m also fan of rafi sahib& worship him like god. every singer in his own capacity is best. u cant deny talents of manadey kishor mukesh hemant mahinder talat & surash wadekar. its wrong 2 compare singers. the highly connoisseur music directors r masters in their field & better visualize as 2 on which star which singer suits as per story situation etc. njoy & admire the song. dont b so short hearted & come out of this shell. all singers r best & so is rafi sahib my favorit.

ssnival on Sunday, May 09, 2010
I am not short hearted but a fact is a fact. Again i am also a big fan of Rafi but Manna dey was a better singer technically and that is the only point i am trying to make that is why he was called to sing all the classical competition songs in basant bahar and Baiju bawra. Yes Rafi is the best playback singer but there is not a single song which he sang could not have been sung by Dey but that is not true otherwise.

jagjitisher on Monday, May 10, 2010
@ssnival one favor frm u. in 60s i saw 2 films payal ki jhankar(kishor, laxmi in lead) music c ramchandra. 2 songs i remember "ai mere soay hue pyar zara hosh main aa"& "mukhde pe gaisu chha gaye". other songs were also melodious. 2nd film is maikhana music i think y brij bhushan. one song i remember y mahesh kumar"ik shab ke musafir hain hum to". im searching wll u plz help me in finding out. thanx.

what an effortless style!!!! makes all the intricacies of singing look so
pedestrian!!

@momeaiz , ejazbhai, what you say is correct. we all have all the good feelings toward god, whichever God. he tells us to be good each other, we get carried on in the name of revenge or whatever, but at the end of the day,we all love peace, dignity, equality, wealth, health, respect.how we are different? Be good.

immortal lyrics!!! Hats of to the poet, singer and of course, legendary Mr. Sahni. He was a great punjabi writer too.

hi 2 all dear viewers!
Listening can be a good experience, no doubt. But, anyone amongst us, who plays harmonium or any musical tool, must try practically to sing it therewith. It's really a chanting song which impresses deeply. I wish if Manna Day G were in front of me and I had touched his feet. But, alas! I cant due to being millions miles apart. May God bless him long n healthy life (Amin)

Hats off... to the legendary Manna Dey sahib. I truly believe no one else could have done justice to this song. "Tu Pyaar Ka Saagar hai" belongs, and only belongs to Manna Dey Sahib.
